Fake Apollo Hospital Appointment Letters Issued in the Name of Trainee Pharmacist Jobs; Hospital Management Lodges Complaint
Bacheli: A case of alleged fraud involving fake job offers and forged appointment letters has come to light at Apollo Hospital, Bacheli. A person allegedly posing as an NMDC official reportedly cheated several job seekers of lakhs of rupees by promising them trainee pharmacist positions at the hospital and sending them fake appointment letters through WhatsApp.
The matter came to light on July 1, when some people from Bijapur district arrived at Apollo Hospital, Bacheli, carrying the appointment letters they had received. However, their hopes of securing a job were shattered when hospital authorities informed them that no recruitment process for trainee pharmacists had been initiated and no such appointment letters had been issued by the hospital.
According to the information available, the accused introduced himself as Amit Singh and claimed to be an NMDC officer. The entire communication with the candidates, including discussions related to the alleged recruitment and financial transactions, was reportedly conducted over phone calls and WhatsApp.
The candidates who allegedly fell victim to the fraud have not yet lodged a complaint themselves. Instead, the Chief Medical Administrator of Apollo Hospital has approached the police and lodged a complaint regarding the preparation and use of forged appointment letters in the name of the hospital.
Job Aspirants Targeted Through Fake Recruitment
The incident has once again raised concerns over fraudsters exploiting the desperation of unemployed youth seeking jobs. Several cases of people being cheated on the pretext of securing employment in NMDC have reportedly surfaced in the past.
While local unemployed youths continue to demand genuine recruitment opportunities, fraudsters appear to be taking advantage of the situation by promising jobs, collecting money and issuing fake appointment letters.
Hospital Clarifies: No Recruitment Was Conducted
Apollo Hospital management has categorically clarified that no recruitment drive for the concerned post had been initiated and no appointment letters were issued by the hospital. The management has therefore sought police intervention into the alleged misuse of the hospital's name and documents for fraudulent purposes.
Police Begin Investigation
Following the complaint, police are investigating the matter, including the identity of the accused, the communication with the candidates and the alleged financial transactions.
Police have expressed confidence that the accused will be apprehended soon.
